Incident Report – Sunday 11h30
Apparently at 11.30 yesterday morning the Stephens family of Berg road returned home, and within 3 or 4 minutes, before they had time to lock their trellidor, someone with a balaclava entered the front door (following them in?) The owner was sitting in the lounge whilst his wife had gone to the kitchen to make coffee. We believe the intruder had not seen the owner who was sitting in the corner of the lounge.
The intruder grabed the lady’s handbag from the dining room table and made off with it. She must have heard a noise and shouted.
The intruder we believe entered by climbing a tree and jumping the wall in the front of the house. Possible exit routes could have been via unoccupied houses at the back of the house and onto Hillside road.
If he exited through the front the intruder would have been directly on Simonstown Road opposite Dolphin Park.
They immediately called the Emergency Control Centre, who called the Police. Unfortunately Prof Stephen only phoned the ACL at 3pm later that day
