Fish Hoek Police 021-784-2700 - Highway NW 073-863-6245

Incident-28th July 2010

Again, we have been called upon to tolerate the inadequate enthusiasm of the powers that be to secure our safety and security. With a known repeat offender. Yes, You have guessed it. STOKWE is back in the area. Not only chased out of Fish Hoek, and told never to return again last Saturday! (Incident report in Mondays email to you all) Wednesday morning purely in the line of duty a suspect individual was spotted crossing the monitor screen of the camera at Sunnycove station. Call was placed to residents on Hillside road to be on the look-and what do you know, “Stokwe again!!”

He was again, told to leave mountainside, and followed onto the beach where Mach1 and about six members of the NW held him until SAPS arrived. They seemed to reluctantly take him away. SAPS then drove around for ten minutes and dropped him off at Fish Hoek railway station.

Please be on the lookout for this individual. His intentions and not honourable. He has just been released from prison after being convicted and serving time for various thefts and house breaking’s.

If you ever spot a black man missing his two front teeth. Please call and report it on the ACL or radio it in. You all have his picture so I wont send again, however if you have deleted it, let me know and I shall forward it to you again.

Update on Thando

A bit of feedback in connection with Thando breaking into a residents garage earlier this year, and stealing 2 x bikes, 1 x scooter and 1 x small vacuum cleaner. He went to court and the charges were dropped due to insufficient evidence. He is out and about and back on the streets again.

Incident Report – Simonstown Road

102 Simon’s Town Road has been broken into twice this week, both times in broad daylight whilst residents where at work. The thief or thieves forced open the tip-up door by levering up the side opposite the bolt, so each time the door was open without being unlocked. Owners power tools, valued at about R5000 in total, have been stolen. The police have been notified and a case opened.

On each occasion the thieves completely trashed the garage, scattering planks and tins of paint, spilling bottles of screws and nails, opening bags of fertilizer and scattering it about, pulling stuff off shelves and strewing it on the floor. It seems like sheer destructiveness. This happened on Monday (July 26) and on Saturday, each time in the afternoon.

I have in my past few emails mentioned the increase in crime on Kommetjie and Simonstown Roads, especially with Jaggers Walk now reopened and the railway line not being in use. I appeal to residents to ensure their properties are adequately secured and all vulnerable areas etc are addressed. Many of these crimes are opportunists so please ensure you lock and close/secure all windows and doors. Patrollers also please ensure you also cover this area of Simonstown Road on your patrols (this is around from Sunnycove on way to Glencairn)
